The classification of buses is mainly based on the number of seats, body length and the specified number of passengers. Specifically, buses with a length of less than 6000mm and a passenger capacity of no more than 9 people are classified as Class I buses. For example, our common 7-seater commercial vehicles usually belong to this category. Class II buses refer to vehicles with a length of less than 6000mm and a passenger capacity of between 10 and 19 people. Buses with a length of 6000mm or more and a rated passenger capacity of no more than 39 people are defined as Class III buses. Class IV buses are passenger cars with a length of not less than 6000mm and a rated passenger capacity of at least 40 people.
In addition, buses can also be divided into medium and large according to the length of the body and the number of passengers. Medium-sized buses have a body length of less than 6 meters and a passenger capacity of between 9 and 20 people. Large buses refer to vehicles with a body length of more than 6 meters or a passenger capacity of 20 or more. At the same time, the definition of a small bus is a vehicle with a body length of less than 6 meters and a passenger capacity of no more than 9 people, while the body length of a microbus is less than or equal to 3.5 meters and the engine displacement does not exceed 1 liter.
From the perspective of driving qualifications, driving a large bus requires an A1 driver's license, while a medium-sized bus requires a B1 driver's license. In terms of application scenarios, large buses are more often used for long-distance passenger services, while medium-sized buses are often used for business trips or small group transportation.
Further, buses can also be subdivided into high-level three, high-level two, high-level one, medium and ordinary levels according to their performance indicators. Large buses cover all five levels, medium-sized buses are divided into four levels, and small buses also have four levels.
